Frequently Asked Questions
What are your working hours [for commissions]?
- It's typically Monday - Friday, 8 PM - 4 AM CST. When possible, I may start an hour or two early or even work on weekends if life allows. What art program do you use?
- Clip Studio Paint on PC for art, Photoshop for graphic/layout work (such as reference sheets), occasionally Procreate on iPad.What utensils do you use?
- I primarily use a Windows PC and a Huion Kamvas 16 gen 3 for my art, otherwise I use an iPad Pro 11 inch 2nd generation with a 2nd generation apple pencil. What is your turn-around-time?
- Generally within a few hours to a few days after receiving payment. Almost always within a week, rarely up to two weeks. It depends on the complexity of the piece and if there is a pre-existing queue. Will you draw canon characters?
- Yes! I usually prefer if it's a canon character also with an OC, but just canon characters are fine to get commissions of. I do not sell merch of canon characters, however. Can you draw something closer to show-style?
- I can, but prefer to utilize my own art style as I'm not completely happy with my recreating of the show style. I will not draw EQG style, however. What I want isn't listed in your price sheet- would you still draw it?
- Please just ask! I'm always happy to talk it out with you. We can work together to figure out a price.Where can I contact you?
- I have social media links located at the bottom of this website if you'd like to follow me or contact me elsewhere! Though you can find me under the PrairieStatePony username on Bluesky, DeviantArt, Instagram, and Twitter/X. (NOTE: due to character limits on X, my username is spelled "prairiestpony" on there.)I want to sell a design/character I received from you, can I do that?
- Yes! You are absolutely free to sell whatever you buy from me. Please just keep character design credits attributed to myself... and please refrain from selling for more than what you bought if the only art included is the initial art/design that I made. It's just a courtesy. Can I use your art as an icon? For roleplaying? To make merch?
- Yes, you can use my art as an icon- be it commissioned for yourself or if it's canon fanart. Yes, as long as it's your character or a canon character. No, my art is not to be used to create merchandise. You may use my art specifically to make something for yourself alone- a sticker, a shirt, poster, etc. But no commercial use is permitted (further outlined in my T.O.S.).Can I trace your art? Make it "better" with AI?
- No. Not at all.Can I repost your art?
- Within reason. If it's a commission/design created for you, you are 100% allowed to reupload on your account and elsewhere as long as I am linked/attributed as the artist and creator. If it's of other people's commissioned work or of my personal art, then no. You may not. When it comes to my fanart of canon characters, I ask that you use the reblog/retweet/repost buttons on whatever social media I post on.

I do NOT condone the creation, minting, etc. of NFTs in any way shape or form, especially with my art. If my art is used for such things, it is against my wishes and legal action will be taken.
No AI training, tracing, recolouring, editing, etc. shall be allowed with my art or designs.
My art is not to be used by anyone other than myself or my commissioners unless specific arrangements have been made.
If you as the commissioner want edits, ask me to see if it's doable. If you wish to edit your own art-such as add a scar or something- go right ahead! No offensive edits will be made.
All transactions are conducted through paypal or ko-fi, though please ask about other payment options and I can see what I can do!
No cryptocurrencies will be accepted, ever.
I require payment up front for my work, although if it is a larger order or a more detailed piece (such as an extensive reference sheet), payment plans or down payments may be accepted.
Work is typically finished within hours to a few days depending on the type and complexity of the commission- a week to two weeks at most or your money is returned.
I do not work with strict deadlines unless stated otherwise. If you need a piece by a certain date, please let me know!

Once the commission is finished, you may post the art anywhere, use for references, etc. but please credit me as the creator of said art (do not pass off as your own).
Additional progress shots beyond the sketches and approved lines are available upon request (each sketch/change I can update you with images).
Once the linework has started & has been approved, no full refunds will be issued.
I have a right to decline for whatever reason.
Unless stated otherwise, I will post your finished commission on my socials and link your account.
